Dance Labs with Laura-Grand Battement/Kick
Have you ever been told to “lift from underneath” while doing a grand battement or kicking the leg? How does that make sense when the muscles used in lifting are on the opposite side? This workshop will focus on the meaning of imagery used to achieve that higher kick as well as the “bone rhythms” that must happen for the leg to move comfortably in the socket as well as “muscle sliding” to achieve a safer range of motion. Not only great for dancers, but for anyone to achieve and maintain hip health.
