Degagé translates to "disengage." Great way to start to warm up the muscles of the feet and calves and build the nice ballet line of the foot. Degagés up the pace from the tendus and releases the foot slightly from the floor to engage and warm up more muscles groups. This is combo 2 and builds on previous combo.

L 1 Ballet Barre Rond de Jambe 2
Rond de Jambe translates to "Round of the Leg." Rond de jambe continues to warm up of the body by moving up the leg and finding greater movement of the hip. This is combo 2 and builds on previous combo.

Grand translates to "large" or "big." Battement translates to "beat." Grand Battements are great at really warming up the hips with large movement and getting the blood flowing. This is combo 2 and builds on the previous combo.

These two skills can be done in place or traveling as well as turning for a more advanced step. As you advance, they will be added to combos to practice memorizing multiple skills. Danced to 3's or 6's, these skills help with patterning and level changes. Balancé translates to rocking step.
